is is a 2015 visual essay by Michelle Rial for BuzzFeed (link). Across six charts, including the two above, tech billionaires and entertainers are put in stark contrast. Travis Kalanick's wealth (former Uber CEO) makes the Kardashian fortune look small. Back in 2015, Mark Zuckerberg's net worth was equal to 50 Jay Zs + 16 Kanyes.

I really love how this series takes a set of numbers that we all naturally lump together together in our minds as the same—rich people are rich—and creates a comparison that is novel, gripping, and totally accessible all at once.
